I was inspired to make this picture by a young boy who wrote a letter for a school project. He asked the big man in authority, the Mayor himself, to restore a local neighborhood park because he had high hopes of romping sportily through it's play area; but more importantly, he asked for safety swings and other playground equipment to accommodate handicapped children so they may also enjoy what physically capable children do. I was so impressed by his altruistic and caring nature. That little person's penmanship and honest sincerity overwhelmed me with a glowing, heartfelt warmth. I had to ask his mother, whom I had the pleasure of journeying through school with, if I may post her son's letter on my Facebook wall. Truly, I was proud of the young author who wrote that letter! She gave me permission to do so, thankfully. How amazing it is when a child a myriad miles away awakens your own inner child, unbinding the spirit of innocence, to revel in Christmas if only for a brief moment. Hence, the list from a giving, childlike vantage and a frog for the boy next door, as a little girl possibly would. All little boys like frogs, right? Of course they do! When princesses kiss frogs on the cheek they turn into .... Oh! Wait! That's mushy girls' fairytale and a different story. Ribbit! Merry Christmas, Kristine and Son. I hope this blingee gives you both just a little bit of the joy you have given me for the Holiday Season. And that's what Christmas is all about, the demonstration of giving and receiving Love.
