In 1903 when Hilda Clark quit modeling for Coca Cola to marry the love of her life Lillian Norton Nordica was asked and accepted the offer to replace her as the official model of the famous company. This one above then is from a circa 1904 Coca-Cola advertisement. Lillian was born in Farmington, Maine in 1857. Named Lillian Norton. She studied in Milan, where she made her operatic debut in 1879. Lillian Nordica sang opera in the Manhattan Opera Company, and the Boston Opera Company, and later all over Europe. She was noted for Wagnerian roles. She appeared in Thalian Hall on May 3, 1903 and on March 11, 1912. She died in 1914. research by Connie Hull aka Joyful226
