Halsey
Ashley Nicolette Frangipane (born September 29, 1994),[1] known by her stage name Halsey /ˈhɔːl.zɪ/,[2] is an American singer/songwriter and recording artist. She started songwriting at the age of 17. In early 2014, she signed her first recording contract with Astralwerks. In late 2014, Halsey released her debut EP, titled Room 93. Halsey released her debut studio album, Badlands, in August 2015, which included two tracks from Room 93: "Ghost" and "Hurricane".
Cher Lloyd
Cher Lloyd (born 28 July 1993) is an English singer, songwriter, rapper, and model. Lloyd rose to fame in 2010 when she finished fourth in the seventh series of The X Factor. Following the seventh series finale, Lloyd was signed to Syco Music.
Lloyd's debut single, "Swagger Jagger," was released in July 2011. The single entered at number one on the UK Singles Chart and number two in the Republic of Ireland. Her second single, "With Ur Love," was released on 31 October 2011, featuring Mike Posner, and peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart, and number five in Ireland, preceding her debut album, Sticks and Stones (2011), which peaked at number four on the UK Albums Chart and number seven in Ireland. Lloyd released her second album, Sorry I'm Late in 2014. Despite its positive acclaim, the album failed to match the success of its predecessor, peaking at number 21 on the UK Albums Chart. Lloyd also experienced crossover appeal, signing to US record label Epic Records in 2012.
Karmin
Karmin is an American pop duo consisting of Amy Renee Heidemann (born April 29, 1986) and Nicholas Louis "Nick" Noonan (born April 27, 1986).[1] The name of the band is a portmanteau made from the Latin word carmen meaning "song" (also a Spanish female name), and the word karma, making the name Karmin.[2]
The duo is known for their covers of popular songs such as "Look at Me Now", "Super Bass", and "Party Rock Anthem".[3] Following the success of their covers, they were signed in 2011 to Epic Records, which was relaunched under L.A. Reid. In May 2012, Karmin released their debut EP, Hello, which spawned the singles "Brokenhearted" and "Hello" and received mixed reviews. "Brokenhearted" reached the top 20 in the US Billboard Hot 100 charts, and the top 10 in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, while "Hello" reached number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs charts in the United States.[4] In March 2014, the duo released their debut album, Pulses. The album's lead single, "Acapella", charted in the top 10 in Australia and New Zealand, and went Gold in the United States. They left Epic Records in the middle of 2014 and have since released music independently. Their second album Leo Rising is scheduled to be released somewhere in fall 2015.[5]
